**Job Posting Title:**Software Design Engineering Scientist Associate**----****Hiring Department:**Applied Research Laboratories**----****Position Open To:**All Applicants**----****Weekly Scheduled Hours:**40**----****FLSA Status:**Exempt**----****Earliest Start Date:**Immediately**----****Position Duration:**Expected to Continue**----****Location:**PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS**----****Job Details:**## PurposeDesign, develop, test, document, and maintain production and R&D software used in data collection, signal processing, mapping, and navigation for the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) at Applied Research Laboratories (ARL).## Responsibilities* Design and develop software applications.* Maintain and test new and legacy code.* Create supporting documentation for software and systems* Participate in data collection exercises, data management, and analysis.* Potential travel to domestic offsite test events, 2-4 times per year.* Other related functions as assigned.## Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or other related field.* Demonstrated ability to define and document complex software applications using object oriented data structures.* Applicant must have a demonstrated ability to follow coding standards and testing standardsApplicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks, and managing their time. This position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving, sound engineering judgment, and good communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.
