Job summary

JBT Marel Corporation in Sandusky, OH is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design and validate control systems for industrial ovens and baking equipment. You will lead electrical designs, specify components, and ensure compliance with safety codes while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and customers.

The role requires hands-on experience with Rockwell PLCs, AutoCAD Electrical, and an understanding of NA electrical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of electrical and controls experience.
• Experience designing electrical circuits and panels for industrial equipment.
• Proficient with Rockwell software for PLC programming.
• Knowledge of North America electrical codes (UL/CSA/NFPA/NEC/IEC).
• Familiar with VFDs, proximity switches, safety devices, SCADA, and HMIs.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and direct electrical controls designs for industrial equipment.
• Guide drafters to create drawings and select components within the controls framework.
• Perform design calculations and validations for safety ratings and equipment operation.
• Provide technical accountability and troubleshoot electrical/control systems.
• Support customers, sales, manufacturing, and project management across the organization.
