Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Reston seeks a highly motivated Patent Agent/Advisor with software and AI expertise to support patent counseling, prosecution, and litigation. A degree in software, computer science, or a related field, plus substantive industry experience, is preferred.

The candidate will conduct prior art searches, analyze patents and papers to assist attorneys, draft patent applications and responses, and advise on tech issues for depositions.

Qualifications

• Superb technical, written, and verbal communication skills in English.
• Broad scientific knowledge in computer science or electrical engineering.
• Expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning strongly preferred.
• Initiative, fast learner, and ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
• Analyze patent and scientific papers to assist attorneys in prosecution, counseling, and litigation.
• Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
• Advise lawyers on technology issues in preparation for depositions.
