Job summary

Augsburg University in Minneapolis is seeking a part-time Supplemental Instructor (SI) to support students in GIS concepts and data management. The SI will host a weekly one-hour session, assist during class, and help prepare materials.

Rate of pay is $16.45/hour. Minnesota Sick and Safe Time applies. Not eligible for health insurance benefits. Applicants must be enrolled as a student and work-study eligible, with SOC/URB 295 completed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student at Augsburg University and work-study eligible.
• Successful completion of Mapping Our Social World (SOC/URB 295).
• Responsible, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Able to break down GIS concepts and explain workflows and data management practices.
• Able to support a variety of student learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a one-hour SI session each week.
• Attend 3 hours of class time (T/Th 2pm - 3:30pm).
• Provide 30 minutes of preparation to review concepts.
• Attend each class session and help answer questions as needed.
