Job summary

Aims Community College’s Early College Academy invites applications for part-time sociology faculty. The role involves teaching courses linked to the High School program that earns students an Associate of Arts degree, with occasional travel to cover events and orientations.

Minimum qualifications require a Master’s in sociology (or related field with 18 graduate hours in sociology). Prior K-12 or dual enrollment experience is preferred, with some benefits for part-time employees.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in sociology or closely related field (or progress toward).
• 18 graduate credit hours in sociology or closely related field; substitutions allowed for up to three graduate credits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with Early College assignment requirements, including schedule and events.
• Teach and develop curriculum to meet program objectives and high standards.
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction and engage students.
• Assess student learning outcomes and adjust teaching practices accordingly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
