Qualifications

  • Master's degree in sociology or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • Ability to teach daytime, campus-based classes in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned course(s) on campus by delivering content, preparing materials, grading, and providing feedback.
  • Teaches online using the university LMS according to JWU outlines.
  • Maintains course site in the LMS and updates the grade center weekly.
  • Keeps accurate records of attendance and academic achievement.
  • Distributes syllabus with objectives, required materials, and evaluation criteria.
  • Communicates with student, chair, and counselor as needed.
  • Directs students to university resources and support services.
  • Populates faculty information system with teaching credentials.
  • Attends faculty orientation and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Master's degree in sociology or related field
