Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA seeks a licensed social worker to provide behavioral health and care management within the hospital system. Under the Manager of Social Work, you will conduct assessments and deliver individual and family psychotherapy using brief modalities.

Requirements include a Master’s in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling and MA LICSW/LMHC, BLS within 3 months, full vaccination or approved exemption.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Current Massachusetts LICSW or LMHC is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience with electronic medical record documentation preferred.
• BLS certification required within three months of hire.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or be exempt by signing a statement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral health assessments and provide behavioral health treatment including individual and family psychotherapy.
• Serve as a consultant and resource to hospital staff in management and treatment of behavioral health disorders.
• Coordinate with complex/chronic care management and longitudinal community support services.

*$6,000 new hire sign-on bonus with LICSW or LMHC license at time of hire. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*

Hours: 32hrs

Shift: Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 8:00am - 4:30pm

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Under the direction of the Manager of Social Work, performs a wide variety of duties in the hospital setting providing behavioral health and complex care management services to Southcoast Health patients across the hospital system. Duties include conducting behavioral health assessments and providing behavioral health treatment including individual and family psychotherapy utilizing brief treatment modalities. Serves as a consultant and resource to hospital staff in the management and treatment of behavioral health disorders. Collaborates and coordinates with complex/chronic care management and longitudinal community support services.

• A Masters Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited college or university.
• Current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) is required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience with electronic medical record documentation preferred.
• BLS certification is required within three (3) months of hire.

• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

• Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
