Description:The Behavioral Healthcare Provider develops, coordinates, implements, and provides interdisciplinary services related to behavioral health.The role involves applying knowledge and techniques related to health and illness to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.Within the scope of practice, the provider performs psychosocial interventions with clients.The provider conducts individual, family, or group interventions such as counseling, testing, and client education.Specific intervention goals and objectives are developed to resolve clients' problems and improve functioning.The provider participates in establishing, implementing, and evaluating treatment system goals and objectives.Interviews with clients and their families are conducted to establish case goals and objectives.Clients are assessed, and specific intervention techniques are determined based on their needs.The provider monitors clients' responses to treatment plans and provides feedback on their effectiveness.Evaluations of lower-level behavioral healthcare provider cases and clients’ progress are completed based on prescribed treatment plans.Necessary documentation is maintained to comply with the requirements of various regulatory agencies.The provider prepares social histories, admission and aftercare summaries, court documents, and completes required forms.Participation in treatment teams and program development teams is expected.Attendance at training meetings, departmental meetings, and court hearings is required.Establishing and maintaining working relationships with other facilities and agencies is important for coordinating referrals and conducting follow-ups.Knowledge of departmental regulations, policies, and procedures is necessary.The ability to counsel on sensitive matters and recognize unusual or threatening conditions is essential.Problem-solving skills in situations with many variables must be applied effectively.Social work theories, principles, and techniques should be understood and applied in practice.Unusual working conditions may include exposure to potentially violent clients or environments with unusual noise or odors.Travel to community sites may be required under contract with relevant departments.
