ReNEW Schools is seeking a School Social Worker to promote the social, emotional, and academic success of students. This licensed professional analyzes barriers to learning and collaborates with home, school, and community to provide support services that enhance achievement.
The position requires a Master’s in Social Work and an Indiana clinical license, with at least three years in social work or special education, and strong communication skills. Grant-funded role with Board-determined terms.

The School Social Worker promotes the social,emotional and academic success of students. Social workers are specifically trained and qualified to analyze barriers to learning and achievement and are a licensed clinical social worker. School Social Workers provide a vital link between the home, school, and community to provide support services that impact students’ academic achievement. School Social Workers promote the academic mission of schools by fostering educational environments that are safe and supportive, emphasizing early intervention and promoting positive behavioral interventions.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general counseling periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to use appropriate language and accompanying techniques with adolescents on one-to-one basis as well as in groups.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally the employee will repeat the same hand, arm or finger motion many times.
