Job summary

Sheppard Pratt seeks an experienced Social Worker / Counselor to join our new General Adult Unit in Towson, MD. You will provide clinical social work services within an inpatient team, conducting individual, family and group therapies to support recovery and discharge planning.

Requires a Master’s in Social Work and Maryland licensure. 2+ years in hospital settings are preferred; on-site work in Towson, with competitive benefits and opportunities for licensure support.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the CSWE.
• Current Maryland State Social Work / Counseling license (LCSW-C, LMSW, LCPC, LGPC) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.
• 2+ years of experience in a hospital or similar clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of clinical social work services in support of the patient's primary therapist/treatment team.
• Interview patients and families to assess psychosocial problems, develop treatment plans, and monitor and evaluate patient progress.
• Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions for patients and their families to help resolve personal and environmental problems.
• Participate as a member of the treatment team.
• Develop and assist in the implementation of discharge and aftercare plans.

Description

We are excited to be opening a new unit!

Sheppard Pratt's inpatient unitsare nationally recognized programs for the treatment of individuals with a variety of mental health conditions. The new General Adult Unit provides specialized inpatient treatment for adults 18 and older. The program utilizes an intensive multi-disciplinary treatment approach through individual therapy, milieu therapy, and process-oriented, experiential, and psycho-educational group therapies.

As a Social Worker you:
