Job summary

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD, seeks a Clinical Social Worker to join the Outpatient Social Work team within the Director for Behavioral Health. You will perform bio-psychosocial evaluations, provide individual or group therapy, and help craft discharge plans within a multidisciplinary setting.

Requirements include a CSWE-accredited master's in social work, an active social work license, and one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level.

About the Position:

This position is located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Director for Behavioral Health, Department of Social Work Adult Medicine, Outpatient Social Work in Bethesda, Maryland.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation using the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Basic Requirement for Social Worker (Clinical):

Degree:

Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your official transcripts with your application package.)

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial evaluations; providing individual or group treatment; developing discharge and treatment plans; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

License:
