Job summary

The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a Social Worker for its Bronx Community Solutions program. The role focuses on brief group interventions for justice-involved individuals, clinical assessments, and referrals within a trauma-informed framework.

Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor/Program Manager, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, manage a varied caseload, and contribute to program evaluation and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred and written skills are essential.
  • Excellent written communication and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care, risk/need/responsivity principles, and anti-oppressive practice.
  • Experience facilitating groups and providing individual counseling sessions.
  • Ability to coordinate with clinical staff, crisis intervention, and de-escalation as needed.
  • Proven case management skills and capability to engage multiple agencies.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Bronx Community Solutions (BCS) is seeking a Social Worker for their adult intervention programming. Bronx Community Solutions is an initiative thatseeksto reengineer the response to low-level crime in the Bronx. By providing judges withadditionalsentencing options for non-violent offenders, Bronx Community Solutions reduces the reliance on short-term jail sentences and offers defendants theassistancethey need to avoid further criminal conduct.

Reporting to theClinicalSupervisor/Program Manager, theATISocial Worker will be primarily responsible for the facilitation and coordination of a brief group intervention for justice-involved individuals as well as conducting clinical assessments, makingappropriate treatmentreferrals, and reporting to court. The intervention is grounded in procedural justice, risk-need-responsivity, and trauma-informed care and is designed to help participants reflect on environmental factors that influence, and often constrain, decision making. The Social Worker will work closely with an interdisciplinary team providing adult case management services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred;

  • Excellent written skills area must;

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices;

  • Facilitate a range of on-site psychoeducational groups and conduct individual counselingsessions;

  • Assistclinical staff and other departments with crisis intervention and de-escalation, as needed;

  • Provide comprehensive,clinically informedcase management services to a caseload of short- and long-term mandated clients;

  • Experience with drug/alcohol treatment, mental health services, co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practice strongly preferred;

  • Conduct clinical assessments and makeappropriate referralsfor treatment and otherservices;

  • Critical thinking skillsand ability to manage high-pressure/fast-paced work environment isa plus.

  • Candidate must be skilled communicator able to work in multi-disciplinary setting andmaintainstrong relationships with multiple agencies and organizations both onsite and in the community;

  • Highly organized and excellent time management skills;and

  • Participate in individual and groupsupervision;

  • Participate in department staff meetings, interdisciplinary meetings, and on- and off-sitetrainings;

  • Assistwith administrative responsibilities, including data management, grantreportingand compliancemonitoring;and;

  • Performadditionalduties as assigned.

Qualifications

The candidate will have an LMSW or a degree in a related field, with a minimum of 1-2 years of experiencein a related area. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Excellent writtenskills area must.Candidate must be skilled communicator able to work in multi-disciplinary setting andmaintainstrong relationships with multiple agencies and organizations both onsite and in the community.Extensive group facilitation experiencea plusand co-facilitation experience preferred. Experience with drug/alcohol treatment, mental health services, co-occurring disorders, traumainformedand anti-oppressive practice strongly preferred.Highly organized and excellent time management skills. Sense of humor, critical thinking skills, and ability to manage high pressure/fast-paced work environment are a plus.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is $57,500 - $75,700 and iscommensuratewith experience.
