Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) plus: A master's degree in social work followed by three years of social services experience. The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.

Job Duties
  • Serve as the primary counselor to individuals with acute and chronic mental illness and co-occurring disorders providing direct care.
  • Provide assessments and treatment plans for clients; screenings, triage and referral services for clients seeking treatment, and will provide emergency evaluations when clinically needed including interventions.
  • Coordinate admissions, discharges, and follow-up services within various programs and work closely with other team members to provide quality treatment to clients.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical psychologists, nurses, pharmacists, and support staff regarding therapeutic interventions, diagnosis, and provisions of evidence based treatments via individual, group, and family therapy modalities.
  • Document therapy notes within established timelines into an EHR (Electronic Health Record) System.
  • Possess and maintain the necessary licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.
Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8 hours per day

Location: This position is located in the Acadiana Area Human Services District - Crowley Behavioral Health Clinic

This AAHSD SITE is NHSC (National Health Service Corps) APPROVED. QUALIFYING SOCIAL WORKERS MAY BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM.
