Job summary

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed inpatient psychiatric facility. Therapists conduct psychosocial assessments, participate in treatment planning, and provide individual, group, and family therapies to support recovery.

Duties include documenting progress, coordinating discharge plans, and linking patients to community resources to ensure continuity of care across settings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Social Services related field required.
  • License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments to document patient history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient and their family members.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans, ensuring concise, realistic care plans are carried out.
  • Provide individual, group and family process-oriented therapies as well as conduct other didactic groups using various professional treatment modalities.
  • Document treatment provided to patient in medical record legibly and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and coordinate an individualized discharge plan for the patient by utilizing the treatment team and chart information to determine aftercare needs.

Responsibilities

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital and start‑up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.

In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co‑occurring disorders on the psychiatric‑medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit.

Therapists are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments to document patient history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient and their family members.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans, ensuring that concise, realistic care plans are carried out.
  • Provide individual, group and family process‑oriented therapies as well as conduct other didactic groups using various professional treatment modalities.
  • Document treatment provided to patient in medical record legibly and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and coordinate an individualized discharge plan for the patient by utilizing the treatment team and chart information to determine aftercare needs. Identify and assess family or community resources such as group homes, or mental health practitioners to meet patient’s aftercare needs.
