Provide educationally related social work services for students with disabilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Works productively with colleagues, parents, and students
- Demonstrates accurate knowledge of field
- Demonstrates appropriate assessment techniques and procedures
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor as defined by the code of ethics of the education professional
Additional Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct an individualized social-emotional-adaptive assessment o the student, the student’s family and the educational and social communities.
- Employ appropriate methods of practice that enables students and their families to function adequately within their educational and community settings.
- Utilize on-going appropriate methods to evaluated his/her services
- Prepare social or developmental histories for students with disabilities
- Provide group and individual counseling with students and their families who are receiving special education as identified as a need through assessment
- Work with those problems in student living situations (home, community and school) that affect their adjustment in school
- Mobilize school and community resources to enable students to receive benefit from their special education services
- Attend Multidisciplinary Team meetings as needed to discuss student need, evaluation data and to plan for goals and objectives, if appropriate
- Maintain necessary and appropriate licensure
- Other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor
Qualifications:
Must have current MSW license, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with parents, students and school personnel.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, physical ability to type on a keyboard terminal, and moving light furniture may be required.
Equipment/Technology Handled:
Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision.
