Job summary

Methodist Health System in Texas seeks a compassionate Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) to provide immediate care and forensic examination to victims in a supportive, confidential setting. You will conduct examinations, collect and document evidence, testify in court when required, and collaborate with law enforcement, legal teams, and peers to uphold the highest standards of care.

Current Texas RN license is required; SANE-A or SANE-P certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical and forensic examinations of sexual assault victims.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Conduct physical and forensic examinations of sexual assault victims.
• Collect and document evidence, and maintain a chain of custody in line with legal standards and guidelines.
• Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and referrals to additional resources.
• Testify in court regarding the medical forensic examination findings as required.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, legal teams, and medical professionals.
• Participate in continuous education to remain current on best practices related to sexual assault care.
• Strong clinical skills in emergency medicine or trauma care.
• Proficient in forensic examination techniques.
• Excellent communication and empathetic skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
