The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a dynamic Social Work Specialist to provide direct SIFI supervision to MSW Interns placed at various YMCA branches and case management support to YMCA staff who work in the mental wellness and case management field.

  • Prepare and maintain all required records and reports as required by placement schools or licensing organizations, including education plans, process recordings, time sheets, mid-year reviews, and end-of-year reviews.
  • Coordinate with Site Task Managers as needed to support Intern task creation, successes, challenges, and compliance through coaching and support as needed.
  • MSW orientation support.
  • Participate in faculty advisor visits when needed.
  • Visit interns at the placement within the Y when needed.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Master's degree or Social Work degree and be professionally licensed in NYS as a licensed social worker (LMSW) required.

  • Familiarity with brief, structured short-term counseling techniques and case management (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Activation, etc.) with various populations - Juvenile justice, probation, foster care, older adults, youth, school-age youth, early childhood, and new immigrants.
  • Ability to coordinate with professionals from different backgrounds, working at different levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to produce high-quality results quickly and on time.
Benefits:
  • The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits, medical benefits, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
