Job summary

California State University, Fresno invites applications for an Instructional Student Assistant in the Department of Social Work Education. The ISA will support grading, tutoring, course content development, and in-classroom assistance for Social Work 278, with 0-20 hours per week and open eligibility until filled.

The position follows the Title IV-E program guidelines and is tied to Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 term dates, with applications reviewed continuously and preferred submission by July

Qualifications

• Admission to a Master's program as of Fall 2026, or doctoral program at CSU Fresno in good standing
• Enrollment in at least 6 units for the semester
• Demonstrated satisfactory progress toward degree completion
• Ability to relate well with others in the academic environment and assist with instruction and student support
• Commitment to working with diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Maintain/Submit students’ records and grades
• Evaluate student assignments
• Help prepare course materials, learning guides, and classroom activities
• Support classroom instruction related to child welfare practice under faculty direction
• Assist with case-based learning and skill development activities
• Support content related to trauma-informed practice and permanency planning
• Assist in administering examinations as directed by faculty
• Attend ISA orientation at the beginning of each semester
• Facilitate small-group discussions and activities
• Attend faculty meetings for course coordination
• Participate in programmatic assessment procedures
• Perform other assignments to support university instruction
