Job summary

Gestalt Community Schools in Tennessee is seeking a History teacher to design weekly lessons, develop standards-based assessments, and analyze data to create intervention plans for scholars. You will integrate technology and project-based learning to engage students and raise achievement.

The role requires a TN History teaching license and a bachelor’s degree, plus strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Holds a TN teaching license in History with appropriate endorsement codes.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Good communication and written skills required.
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prefer experience with TVAAS, state assessments, and data-driven instruction.
  • Ability to work in an extended day environment and inclusion settings with a co-teacher.

  • Creating lesson plans
  • Teaching scholars a common core based curriculum
  • Integrating technology into lessons and plans
  • Motivating scholars towards achievement
  • Meeting with parents regarding performance and conduct
  • Developing scholar improvement plans
  • Working with special educators in a co-teaching model for students with IEP plans
  • Work planning with school and network teams
  • Attending weekly required professional development training
  • Create and review student assessments
  • Tutoring students/other duties as assigned
