Job summary

Frisco ISD in Frisco, TX seeks a dynamic educator and athletic coach to provide instruction in the assigned academic subject area while leading athletic programs and ensuring student safety.

The role combines teaching and coaching responsibilities, requiring valid Texas teaching credentials, CDL with endorsements, and strong organizational and communication skills. Expect curriculum development, student assessment, and supervision of student-athletes in a collaborative district environment.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university; Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned; Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
• Ability to obtain a CDL with passenger, air brake and safety endorsements
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of the academic subject; general curriculum knowledge; ability to instruct students and supervise student athletes; excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; coaching techniques; UIL rules
• Ability to pass annual and random DOT physical/drug testing; ability to perform bus evacuation and CPR/First Aid as needed

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum; tailor instruction for diverse learners; present subject matter per TEA policies; fulfill coaching duties and supervise athletic activities
• Plan and supervise assignments; use technology to support teaching and athletic development; assess student learning styles and adjust activities
• Drive bus to transport students as needed; report bus issues following district policies; comply with CDL laws and safety requirements
• Support student growth and development through ongoing assessment; supervise extracurricular activities; model sportsmanship and positive behavior
• Create an orderly classroom and athletic environment; manage student behavior per code of conduct; supervise student athletes on trips and at contests
• Communicate with parents, students, principals, and teachers to maintain professional relationships and clear information flow
• Assist in equipment selection and inventory; oversee maintenance of athletic facilities and assets
• Participate in professional development and comply with school regulations; maintain records and participate in staff meetings
• Supervise assigned assistant coaches and coordinate with athletic director
