The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services has a position available for a Frontline Social Service Supervisor position within Safety Unit. The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi's at-risk children and families. Provides supervision, motivation, and counsel to assigned staff via continuous verbal and written feedback; uses administrative tools to monitor activities including but not limited to tracking and reporting of compliance areas through use of available data sources and developing corrective plans when deemed necessary; ensures uniform implementation of state and federal policy, procedures and laws governing MDCPS. Ensures clear and consistent communication to assigned staff in a timely manner to include but not limited to in-services and ongoing education regarding the 2nd MSA and other agency updates; Provides continuous flow of updated information in the form of reports, statistical data, etc. on area of responsibility; Review and approve employee leave and travel with ensuring proper coverage to ensure timely initiation and submission of investigations. Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of experience. The appointing authority may require a Master’s Degree and/or a social worker’s license. — Agency Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in social work, social services, psychology, educational psychology, sociology, nursing, criminal justice, counseling, marriage and family therapy, family studies, or a related field. 2-4 years of experience in a human service-related field. Salary is determined by the employee’s education and experience.
