Job summary

The Salvation Army Hibbing Corps in Hibbing, MN is seeking a Social Services Coordinator to provide direct assistance and POH case management, connecting participants to essential services and community partners. Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered.

• MN Food Protection Manager Certification within 90 days of employment and maintained throughout employment.
• Must pass background checks.
• Valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management for POH participants.
• Provide participants with direct assistance (e.g., Heatshare, vouchers).
• Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry.
• Oversee food shelf operations including processing incoming and outgoing food donations and purchases, staffing, training, statistics, and reporting.
• Facilitate individual and group educational activities.
• Assist with seasonal and special events.
• Recruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with participants and throughout the community.
• Engage in internal activities to promote and further POH goals and objectives.

Position Summary

The Salvation Army Hibbing Corps is doing the most good by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; shelter and housing programs; and connections to community partners.

The Social Services Coordinator provides direct assistance to program participants. The Coordinator also recruits and provides a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants. POH is responsible for providing targeted services to participants with a desire to break the cycle of crisis and enable a path out of intergenerational poverty.

Wage: $20-$22 per hour, 40 hours per week

Essential Functions

• Provide participants with direct assistance (e.g., Heatshare, vouchers). (20%)
• Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry. (15%)

Education and Experience

• Associate degree in relevant field preferred. Instead of a degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
