The Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility in Kenai, Alaska is seeking a Social Services Associate to support Juvenile Probation Officers with clerical tasks and limited intake duties. You will establish and maintain case files and JOMIS records to meet compliance guidelines.

Responsibilities include managing office supplies, timesheets, travel bookings, and other duties as assigned. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with a 7.5-hour workday at the Kenai facility.

Qualifications

  • One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience in assisting clients, customers, the general public, or other staff in the explanation and application of guidelines, policies, or services.
  • Some positions require a valid Alaska driver's license, a background check, and fingerprinting.
  • Background check includes state and FBI fingerprint-based screening.

The Division of Juvenile Justice is recruiting to fill a Social Services Associate position located in Kenai at the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility.

Assisting Juvenile Probation Officers by providing a full range of clerical/support services and limited intake and field supervision duties. Establish and maintain case files and Juvenile Offender Management Information System files to meet compliance guidelines. Maintain office supplies and equipment, assist with timesheets, travel booking, and other duties as assigned.

The working environment you can expect

This position is co‑located with the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility, a 24‑hour juvenile detention facility, located at 405 Marathon Rd Kenai AK. The Kenai Juvenile Probation Office is comprised of four probation officers and one supervisor. In addition to the office covering the surrounding smaller communities of Sterling, Nikiski, Kasilof, and Clam Gulch, the office covers Homer and their surrounding communities and Seward. This is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday, with a 7.5‑hour workday. Social Services Associates may have the opportunity to travel in‑and out‑of‑state periodically to assist in the duties of the office.
