Reports to: VP of Marketing
About Pit Viper
Pit Viper is an eyewear company based in South Salt Lake, Utah that designs, develops, and manufactures sports performance equipment and lifestyle pieces. Our mission is to bring the party to performance eyewear and offer durable, functional, and expressive products at an exceptional value, while making you laugh. Our vision is to build the most fun brand the world has ever known. You're welcome.
Why This Role Exists
People already make content about Pit Viper for free, every day. We need the person who directly manages and activates our die-hard fans to create the quantity of content that will drive our organic and paid media. TikTok Shop is live but barely moving, TikTok Live is untapped, and nobody owns our organic posting. Our ad team needs more raw creator content than an in-house team can shoot. This role fixes all of it.
This is a revenue role, not a gifting role. It owns every place we sell through social: creators and affiliates, TikTok Shop, TikTok Live, and our own posting calendar, along with the sales each one produces.
Position Overview
The Social Selling Manager owns Pit Viper's affiliate program, creator partnerships, TikTok Shop, TikTok Live selling, and organic social posting. The role has two jobs: grow the revenue we sell through social, and keep our ads and social channels supplied with content that sells.
The role owns the social selling budget, including commissions, creator fees, Live host fees, and product seeding, and is accountable for its return. It works daily with the ads team, design, e-commerce, and product marketing, and makes sure creators are part of every launch and promotion rather than an afterthought.
Key Responsibilities
Affiliate program
- Own the affiliate program end to end: platform, commission tiers, codes and links, tracking, and monthly payouts.
- Recruit, onboard, and activate affiliates across creators, publishers, deal sites, and niche communities in moto, snow, bike, golf, and outdoor.
- Build an affiliate calendar tied to launches and sales, including briefs, early access, and bonus commission windows.
- Police the program: code leakage, coupon sites, brand-bidding, and attribution conflicts with paid media.
TikTok Shop
- Grow TikTok Shop through the affiliate program: open and targeted collaborations, sample requests, commission rates, and creator retention.
- Build a bench of creators who sell on TikTok Shop, and recruit the strongest as Live hosts.
- Run Spark Ads and creator whitelisting with the ads team so the best organic creator posts become paid ads.
TikTok Live selling
- Own the TikTok Live program end to end: schedule, hosts, run-of-show, product lineup, and live-only offers.
- Host or produce regular Live selling sessions, and recruit and train in-house and creator hosts.
- Coordinate inventory, promotions, and customer service coverage with e-commerce for every Live.
- Report on each Live: viewers, conversion, and sales, plus what to change next time.
Social posting
- Own Pit Viper's organic posting calendar on TikTok and Instagram: what goes out, when, and who makes it.
- Post, caption, and schedule daily, pulling from creator content, in-house shoots, and launches.
- Manage comments and DMs, and route customer issues to customer service.
- Track what drives views, followers, and clicks to shop, and share it with creative and the ads team.
Creator partnerships and content
- Source, negotiate, and contract paid creator partnerships, including usage rights, deliverables, and timelines.
- Run a steady creator content pipeline for the ads team: briefs, product seeding, review, and delivery of ad-ready raw footage.
- Write creator briefs that carry Pit Viper's voice without scripting the fun out of it.
- Support the existing athlete and team roster as part of the wider creator program.
Planning and accountability
- Own the social selling budget and report monthly on revenue by channel (affiliate, TikTok Shop, TikTok Live), ROAS, and cost per asset.
- Build the social selling section of every go-to-market plan and promotion, starting with BFCM and spring launches.
- Keep a single creator roster with rates, performance, content rights, and contract status.
- Watch competitors and culture, and bring new creator formats and partners to the team.
Qualifications
- 4 or more years in social commerce, affiliate, creator, or social media marketing for a consumer brand, with revenue you can point to.
- Hands-on experience running TikTok Shop and TikTok Live selling, including affiliate programs, sample management, and Live hosting or production.
- Working knowledge of affiliate and creator platforms such as Impact, Refersion, Social Snowball, GRIN, or the TikTok Shop Affiliate Center.
- Comfortable on camera, or skilled at coaching hosts who are.
- Knows short-form video: formats, trends, and posting cadence on TikTok and Instagram, with accounts you have grown.
- Experience negotiating creator rates, usage rights, and whitelisting terms.
- Comfortable with numbers: commission math, attribution, and a monthly report that ties spend to sales.
- Strong project management across a large roster of creators and internal teams.
- Experience in action sports, outdoor, or a similar lifestyle category is a significant plus.
- Alignment with Pit Viper's brand personality and culture.
What Success Looks Like
- Year one: an affiliate program with clear tiers and clean tracking, a working TikTok Shop creator bench, a weekly TikTok Live schedule, a consistent posting calendar, and a creator content pipeline the ads team relies on every week.
- TikTok Shop and TikTok Live become real sales channels, not tests.
- Creators are present in every launch and promotion as a matter of course.
- Our own TikTok and Instagram accounts post consistently and send measurable traffic to shop.
- The ads team has more usable creator footage than it can run.
- Social selling spend is reported monthly and tied to revenue we can see and act on.
