Job summary

The College of Lake County (CLC) is seeking a Social Media and Video Marketing Intern to help tell the college story through engaging social content and YouTube videos. This hands-on role suits a creative student who enjoys video production, photography, and social media trends.

The intern will collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to highlight student experiences, campus events, and the impact of CLC while gaining real-world experience in content creation and campaign planning.

Qualifications

• Must be an established student with completion of at least 9 credits at CLC and a GPA of 2.25 and currently enrolled for Fall 2026
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience creating content for social media platforms
• Basic photography and videography skills
• Experience with post-production video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Express, Canva or similar platforms
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines

Responsibilities

• Research social media trends, platform updates and emerging content formats
• Capture and edit video and photo content for social media and YouTube
• Assist with the planning, filming and production of YouTube videos
• Create short-form video content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other platforms
• Write social media copy, video titles, descriptions and captions
• Support content calendars and campaign planning
• Conduct interviews with students, faculty and staff for video projects
• Monitor content performance and provide insights on engagement and audience growth
• Assist with live event coverage through photography and videography
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to develop creative content concepts and storytelling strategies
• Maintain brand standards across digital content
