The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly creative, entrepreneurial, and results‑driven Social Media Manager to build and lead PureTek’s social presence from the ground up. This is a newly created, highly visible role with genuine ownership over how PureTek shows up online, connects with customers, and grows its digital commerce business.

The ideal candidate is equal parts content creator, social strategist, trend spotter, and operator — comfortable developing concepts, filming and editing, writing copy, publishing, engaging audiences, analyzing performance, and continually experimenting with what works. A major early focus is TikTok and TikTok Shop: creating content designed to drive engagement and conversion, and establishing TikTok Shop as a meaningful sales channel for the company.

You will start as a hands‑on individual contributor. As results come, you will have the opportunity — and the responsibility — to build and lead PureTek’s social media and content team.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute platform‑specific strategies across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and emerging channels — native content for each platform, not one asset crossposted everywhere.
• Own the social content calendar, publishing cadence, community engagement, and social listening.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends, formats, creators, memes, and algorithm changes; monitor competitors and the broader wellness and personal care conversation.
• Track social KPIs and deliver regular performance reporting with clear recommendations.

Content Creation

• Concept, shoot, edit, and publish engaging short‑form video and other social‑first content, owning the creative process from idea through publishing.
• Write scroll‑stopping hooks, scripts, captions, and headlines in a consistent brand voice.
• Develop repeatable content formats and series that reliably generate engagement and growth.
• Partner with R&D, quality, and operations to turn PureTek’s manufacturing and science credibility into authentic, educational content most wellness brands cannot make.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders, creators, photographers, videographers, and external partners as needed.

Compliance & Brand Safety

• Partner with Regulatory Affairs and Quality to ensure all content — including creator and affiliate content — complies with FDA and FTC requirements for dietary supplements and OTC drug products, including permissible claims, substantiation, and endorsement disclosures.
• Operate a fast, lightweight claim‑review workflow so compliance never becomes a bottleneck to publishing.
• Equip creators and affiliates with clear claims guidance and monitor partner content.

Community & Brand

• Engage daily with customers and followers, building an active online community around PureTek and its brands.
• Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and brand conversations; turn real customer questions and feedback into content.
• Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across platforms, and help protect and strengthen PureTek’s reputation online.
• Establish the social media function as a hands‑on individual contributor.
• As the function grows, define staffing needs and recruit, hire, onboard, and manage social, content, creative, and community talent.
• Set clear goals, workflows, performance expectations, and creative processes for a high‑performing team.

What You’ll Bring

• 5–8 years of professional experience in social media, content marketing, digital marketing, or influencer marketing, with demonstrated success growing accounts and driving engagement and/or revenue.
• Strong hands‑on short‑form video skills for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, with fluency in tools such as CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or Canva.
• Direct experience with building a business's social media presence.
• A deep understanding of TikTok culture, trends, algorithms, and creators, and what drives content performance.
• Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills, with strong visual and creative instincts.
• Experience using social analytics to make decisions and improve performance.
• Experience in a regulated or claims‑sensitive category — supplements, OTC, health and wellness, beauty, or food/CPG — strongly preferred; at minimum, the discipline to create winning content within FDA/FTC guardrails.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Entrepreneurial, hands‑on, and comfortable building a function from the ground up.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; prior experience hiring or mentoring creative talent is a plus.

Los Angeles, California (Panorama City / San Fernando Valley) — Onsite. Because this role centers on hands‑on content creation and building a new function within the company, the Social Media Manager works in person with the broader PureTek team — with regular access to the production floors, labs, and product experts that make our content possible.
