Role Description

The Social Media Editor & Content Creator is a part-time, hybrid role based in Monterey, CA, with flexibility for some work-from-home tasks. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and editing content for social media platforms to showcase VettyFilms' projects, clients, and community initiatives. Day-to-day work includes developing social media calendars, writing captions, editing short-form video clips, selecting and optimizing images, and publishing posts across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and others. The role involves collaborating with the production team to capture behind-the-scenes content, repurpose film projects into social-friendly formats, and maintain consistent brand voice and visual style. The Social Media Editor & Content Creator will also monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and report on performance metrics to support audience growth and community building.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in social media content creation, including short-form video editing, basic graphic design, and writing engaging captions.
• Experience with social media platforms and tools (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, scheduling and analytics tools).
• Ability to plan and execute content calendars, align content with brand strategy, and support marketing campaigns.
• Comfort working with video and film assets, including cutting clips, adjusting formats, and optimizing content for different platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and consistency in tone and style.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment.
• Familiarity with storytelling, filmmaking, or media production is highly beneficial; prior experience in a creative or media role is a plus.
• Located within commuting distance of Monterey, CA, with availability for on-site work; flexible schedule to support events and productions.
