Job summary

Project for Pride in Living (PPL) in Minneapolis is seeking a creative Digital Content & Communications Intern to support marketing and communications across digital channels. The role offers hands-on experience with social media, website content, donor engagement, and events within a collaborative nonprofit team.

The internship runs October 2026 through May 2027, is paid, and provides mentorship and portfolio-building opportunities as part of the agency’s communications program.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, digital media, English, graphic design or related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Passion for community impact and equity.

Responsibilities

• Draft and edit social media content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and emerging platforms.
• Create graphics using Canva and other design tools.
• Support photography and video content collection at programs, events, and community activities.
• Assist with short-form video and reel development.
• Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across channels.
• Schedule and publish social media content.
• Monitor engagement and respond to routine inquiries when appropriate.
• Track performance metrics and prepare monthly analytics summaries.
• Identify content trends and opportunities to increase audience engagement.
• Update website content, stories, event information, and program pages.
• Assist with content organization and quality assurance.
• Help identify opportunities to improve website engagement and user experience.
• Assist with newsletters, email campaigns, annual reports, and fundraising communications.
• Provide general communications and marketing support as needed.
