Job summary

Soccer Shots Central Indiana in Carmel, IN is offering a Fall 2026/Winter 2027 internship. The program runs 12–15 weeks with 15–30 hours per week, paying $10/hour for admin work and $17 per session as lead coach (or $12 when assisting), plus a $20 weekly gas reimbursement.

Under the Admin & Event Coordinator, you will observe a successful franchise system and gain experience delivering youth programs, scheduling, hiring, and event management, coaching sessions with parents and childcare

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the overall execution of the scheduled Soccer Shots season.
  • Organize and execute all summer camps (summer only).
  • Coach sessions throughout the season and act as a backup for sessions.
  • Run demos and attend promotional events.
  • Participate in customer question portal management, Listen360 NPS survey responses, and general customer service via email/phone.
  • Prepare hiring binders for current and future hires.
  • Prepare for new hires (uniform, equipment, prizes, coach picture, etc.).
  • Create “Meet your Coach” sheets.
  • Participate in interviews for future intern candidates.
  • Organize, promote, and execute seasonal events (Spring - Super Soccer Saturdays; Summer - OrangeFest; Fall - Purdue Collegiate Soccer Day and Ghosts & Ghoalies Halloween Fest).
  • Find volunteers to help run events.
  • Create event logistics plans, gather necessary items, solicit donations, and set up event vendors.
  • Plan and execute one community outreach project.
  • Organize and distribute enrollment forms and promotional materials to coaches.
  • Prepare and distribute jerseys, seasonal prizes, and certificates.
  • Data entry and inventory management.
  • Execute marketing for events and prepare seasonal newsletters.
  • Prepare and execute player of the season profiles and emails.
  • Prepare and execute team photo emails.
  • Participate in all seasonal staff meetings and social events.
  • Prepare and execute creative social media posts highlighting the local Soccer Shots team.
  • Attend leadership team meetings as needed.
  • Attend weekly one-on-one meetings with HR & Administrative Coordinator.
  • Read two leadership/management/business related books.
  • Learn GiANT Worldwide leadership tools.
  • Participate in meetings with leadership team members to understand their roles.
  • Prepare presentations and present to leadership team.
  • Submit a final report on the internship experience.

Founded in 1998, Soccer Shots is a children’s soccer program with a focus on character development for children ages 2-8. It operates in over 200 territories across 37 states and Canada, serving over 540,000 children.

Local Franchise

The local Soccer Shots franchise, “Soccer Shots Central Indiana,” has existed for 12 years. The office is located in Carmel, IN, and employs over a dozen staff members.

Primary Internship Site

Professional Development Value

The intern will be supervised by the Admin & Event Coordinator. They will observe a successful franchise system and gain experience in delivering athletic programs to youth.

Academic and Experiential Objectives

The intern must present themselves professionally, arrive on time for office hours, soccer sessions, and events. They will assist in executing a Soccer Shots season, learn scheduling, hiring, and management, and coach sessions while working with parents and childcare directors.

Obtaining Academic/College Credit

To count for academic credit, the student must notify Soccer Shots and work with their school’s registrar or advisor.

Internship Structure and Compensation

The internship will involve 15-30 hours per week for a 12- to 15-week period. Seasons:

  • SPRING SEASON: March through end of June.
  • SUMMER SEASON: May through mid-August.
  • FALL SEASON: August/September through end of December.
  • WINTER SEASON: December/January through end of March or April.

During the first four weeks, the intern will work closely with the Event & Administrative Coordinator preparing for the upcoming season. Once the season starts, the focus will shift to executing and organizing summer camps and weekly sessions, including day and evening times.

The intern will be compensated $10 per hour for administrative work and $17 per session as lead coach ($12 per session when assisting). A $20 weekly gas reimbursement is included.

The internship position is eligible for NPS Remarkables Bonus. If the intern is mentioned by name in a positive NPS review, they receive $10 per remarkable comment.
