Job summary

i9 Sports - Honolulu, HI is seeking an Official for their youth sports leagues. This essential role involves enforcing rules while cultivating a positive game culture. You will act as an on-field coach for kids aged 3-6, advocating for all players, coaches, and spectators.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and sport-specific experience, ready to promote sportsmanship and safety. This role requires working weekends during the season from April 18 to May 31 and July 11 to August 22.

Qualifications

• Experience in officiating, playing or coaching sports.
• Ability to take charge of situations to ensure player safety.
• Motivated self-starter who can solve problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Enforce i9 Sports rules ensuring fun and safety.
• Teach sportsmanship values and core concepts.
• Manage game time and score for children ages 3-6.
• Setup and breakdown game fields.

Job Summary

The Official is a critical role in any sports field; responsible for enforcing rules while also cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-field coach, and advocating for the programs. This role has a direct impact on players, coaches, and spectators each and every game day.

Responsibilities

• Understand & enforce the i9 Sports rules books ensuring a fun, learning, and safety for all players
• Teach & demonstrate core concepts including Sportsmanship values
• Keep time and score during the game; manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills
• Officiate games for kids ages 3-6 years old
• Set up and break down field

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills
• Sport-specific officiating, playing, or coaching experience
• Highly motivated self-starter; can work independently & solve problems
• Awareness & ability to take charge of any situation to ensure the safety of players
• Positive attitude and a strong ability to build professional relationships
• Ability to work weekends (for the full duration of the season, ~7 weeks)
• Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
• Season Dates: Apr 18-May 31, July 11-Aug 22, Oct-Dec
