Job summary

Brains and Motion Education in Rosemead, CA is seeking a Soccer Enrichment Instructor for after-school programs. You will coach elementary and middle school students, building confidence and athletic skills in a high-energy, educational setting.

The role focuses on teaching soccer fundamentals, teamwork, and personal growth within a structured BAM! curriculum. Schedule: Mon–Thu 1:45 PM–4:00 PM PST during the Fall Session.

Qualifications

• Sports Background: 1-2 years of personal or instructional experience in Soccer with a passion for teaching youth (≤140 chars)
• Educational Background: 48 college units, associate degree or higher, or ESSA qualifying score (≤140 chars)
• Coaching & Leadership: Enthusiasm for mentoring youth (coaching/teaching/camp experience preferred) (≤140 chars)
• Group Management: Strong classroom and behavior management for K-8 (≤140 chars)
• Logistics & Clearances: Reliable transportation, valid license/state ID, pass background check (≤140 chars)
• Physical Capability: Able to demonstrate athletic movements and lift 20–50 lbs (≤140 chars)
• Availability: Mon–Thu 1:45 PM–4:00 PM PST during required program hours (≤140 chars)

Job Description

Are you passionate about sports and eager to share your expertise in soccer with young, enthusiastic learners? Do you want to gain valuable coaching experience in an educational setting while helping students build confidence and athletic skill?

As an After-School Sports Coach, you will guide elementary and middle school students through the fundamentals of soccer. You will play a key role in fostering teamwork, movement, discipline, and personal growth in a supportive and high-energy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & Inspire: Direct engaging, high-energy sessions in soccer, encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, and active participation.
• Skill Development: Teach essential fundamentals - from footwork, dribbling and passing to shooting and play execution - tailoring instruction to accommodate beginners through intermediate skill levels.
• Class & Group Management: Maintain a safe, organized, and positive environment for K-8 students during after-school hours.
• Curriculum Execution: Implement structured BAM! Sports curriculums, ensuring sessions are age-appropriate, inclusive, and fun.

Qualifications

• Sports Background: 1-2 years of personal or instructional experience in Soccer with a strong passion for teaching youth.
• Educational Background: At least two years of college coursework (48 semester units), an associate's degree or higher, or passing score on a local assessment meeting 'Every Student Succeeds Act' (ESSA) requirements.
• Coaching & Leadership: Demonstrated enthusiasm for mentoring youth (prior coaching, teaching, or camp counselor experience preferred).
• Group Management: Strong classroom and behavior management skills suitable for K-8 students.
• Logistics & Clearances: Reliable transportation, a valid Driver's License or State ID, and the ability to pass a standard background check.
• Physical Capability: Ability to demonstrate athletic movements and occasionally lift/carry equipment weighing 20-50 lbs.
• Availability: Must be consistently available during required program hours (Mondays through Thursdays between 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM PST).
