Job summary

Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City’s J Soccer program seeks energetic, reliable Soccer Coaches for the upcoming season in Overland Park. Coaches lead age-appropriate sessions, follow provided curriculum, and foster a safe, fun environment where players learn and enjoy the game.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging sessions, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork, building relationships with players and families, and supporting events year-round.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Coaching, playing, refereeing, teaching, or youth leadership experience is preferred but not required.
  • General knowledge of soccer and its rules.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
  • Reliable transportation.

  • Represent The J and J Soccer with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a player-first mindset.

At J Soccer, we believe every child deserves a coach who helps them build confidence, develop skills, and fall in love with the game.

Role Overview

We are hiring energetic, reliable Soccer Coaches to join our coaching team for the upcoming season. Coaches play a key role in creating a positive, fun, and safe environment where players are encouraged to learn, compete, and enjoy the game. Our grassroots soccer program emphasizes age‑appropriate player development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a lifelong love of soccer.

Schedule
  • Reliable part‑time coaches to lead or assist with soccer programming for players ages 3‑14.
  • Work approximately 5‑10 hours per week on weeknights and/or Sundays.
  • Primary fall season runs August through October, with additional opportunities throughout the year (winter, spring, summer, camps, clinics, and competitive programming).

Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing, walking, and exposure to the weather outdoors up to 2‑4 hours.
  • Frequent walking/running, eye/hand/foot coordination to demonstrate and soccer skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with participants.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 35 lbs.
