Job summary

Nexplore is seeking a part-time Instructor in Bellevue, WA to deliver in-person STEM, Digital Tech, Art, Life Skills and Fitness instruction to PreK-12 students. You will use provided training, lesson plans, and materials, reporting to a Program Success Manager.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years teaching experience, strong communication and presentation skills, and a commitment to the full schedule. Compensation is $60 per hour per class, with opportunities for mini camps and field trips.

Qualifications

• AA Degree (or higher), with teaching or related experience.
• 2+ years teaching or instructing experience preferred.
• Experience working with children.
• Willing to complete mandatory training.
• Must commit to the full proposed schedule.
• Great communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow provided schedule, arrive on time and prepared to teach (review lesson plans and materials).
• Deliver standard-aligned instruction and manage all supplied materials.
• Communicate professionally with Program Success Manager and site personnel.
• Deliver instruction from Nexplore’s collection of programs and provide accommodations/extensions as relevant.
• Engage families through events and showcases and support classroom community.

Nexplore Instructor Role

The Nexplore Instructor is responsible for consistently delivering high-quality, in-person STEM, Digital Tech, Art, Life Skills and/or Fitness' instruction to foster the joy of learning. Supplied with training, lesson plans, curriculum, and materials, the Nexplore Instructor is responsible for preparing for instruction and teaching students in grades PreK-12 (varies based on assignment). They will report to a Program Success Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Consistency - Follow a provided schedule, arrive on time and prepared to teach (must review lesson plans and materials prior to instruction), and maintain compliance with site expectations.
• Competence - Deliver meaningful, standard-aligned instruction that cultivates critical thinking, problem solving, and joy in the learning process. Manage all supplied instructional materials.
• Communication - Engage in professional, responsive, effective communication with Nexplore Program Success Manager and site personnel.
• Creativity - Deliver inspiring instruction from Nexplore’s collection of 80+ programs, administering accommodations and extensions, as relevant.
• Community - Participate in family engagement efforts (welcome letters, showcases, etc.) and empower each and every child to meaningfully access and engage in Nexplore programs.
