Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is seeking a Security Operation Center Specialist to monitor threats in real time and triage alerts. You’ll assist in forensic investigations and incident response, ensuring accurate documentation of investigative findings and alignment with security policies.

The role requires a BA/BS in a related field, knowledge of security tech and strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. HIPAA/compliance awareness is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cyber security, IT or related field.
• Understanding of adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Knowledge of security technologies (IDS/IPS/SIEM, firewalls, log analysis, DLP, antivirus).
• Ability to research and solve complex business and technology problems.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, multi-tasking, project management, and communication skills.
• Customer focused and service oriented to ensure timely and accurate performance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time threats and triage alerts, validating incidents.
• Assist with digital forensic investigations to determine system misconduct.
• Assist where needed in response to potential security incidents.
• Obtain information to prepare notes of investigative findings.
• Maintain Information Security Policies and Procedures for the incident response program.
• Assist with eDiscovery and litigatory security support for data processing.
