Job summary

Olympus Solutions, Inc. seeks a Full-Time SOC Platform Administrator to support the 24x7 SOC for a large federal civilian agency. You will patch, back up, monitor, and automate SOC platforms to keep them healthy and compliant with security standards.

The role is hybrid in the Lanham, MD or Memphis, TN area with onsite work and telework as approved. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a federal clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 7+ years of relevant experience; three additional years may substitute for degree.
• Enterprise RHEL and Windows Server administration.
• Virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix.
• Patch management and vulnerability remediation at scale.
• Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal clearance.

Responsibilities

• Patch and maintain operating systems and security software on SOC platforms within required timelines.
• Keep platforms aligned with customer policies and hardening standards (STIG or CIS).
• Automate monitoring, deployment, and maintenance tasks.
• Monitor resources, health, and availability to meet a 99.9% uptime target.
• Design, schedule, and verify backups and perform data recoveries.
• Troubleshoot system issues and outages and restore service.

Olympus Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time, highly motivated SOC Platform Administrator to join our team supporting the 24x7 Security Operations Center of a large federal civilian agency. In this role, you will keep the systems under the SOC’s tools patched, backed up, monitored, and available, and automate the routine work so the platforms stay healthy.

This position is hybrid in the Lanham, MD or Memphis, TN area, with onsite work and telework as approved by the customer. Candidates must live within commuting distance.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

• Schedule – Business hours, with scheduled maintenance windows and on-call support for outages.
• Clearance and Eligibility – U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable federal suitability determination (minimum Moderate Risk Background Investigation). Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

System Maintenance and Automation

• Patch and maintain operating systems and security software on SOC platforms within required timelines.
• Keep platforms aligned with customer policies and hardening standards (STIG or CIS).
• Automate monitoring, deployment, and maintenance tasks.

Availability, Backup, and Recovery

• Monitor system resources, health, and availability against a 99.9% uptime target.
• Design, schedule, and verify backups, and perform data recoveries when needed.
• Troubleshoot system issues and outages and restore service.
• Plan downtime at least a week in advance and coordinate it so remaining infrastructure covers the gap.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience. Three additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
• Enterprise RHEL and Windows Server administration.
• Virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Citrix.
• Patch management and vulnerability remediation at scale.
• Scripting for automation (Bash, PowerShell, or Python).
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a federal suitability determination.

Preferred Qualifications

• Administration of SIEM or log platform infrastructure (Splunk preferred).
• Ansible or other configuration management tools.
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, RHCSA or RHCE, or Microsoft server or Azure administration.
