Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a SOC Engineer II with a Secret Clearance for a world-leading technology organization in Fulton, Maryland. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office and supports 24/7 security operations monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats across enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on incident response experience, familiarity with SIEM tools such as Splunk, and the ability to work with government or regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a SOC or cybersecurity role.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk.
• Knowledge of incident response, threat detection, and vulnerability management.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, operating systems, and attack vectors.
• Experience in government, defense, or regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and security monitoring tools to identify threats.
• Investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents per procedures.
• Perform threat hunting and proactive analysis to identify indicators of compromise.
• Collaborate with incident response, engineering, and compliance teams to remediate issues.
• Maintain documentation related to incidents, response actions, and lessons learned.
• Support continuous improvement of SOC processes, tools, and detection capabilities.
