Job summary

Axon is hiring a Security Operations Engineer II to join the SOC, monitoring and responding to security events across Axon’s environments. You will build automation, develop detections, and lead incidents from discovery through remediation, enabling the SOC to scale with growth.

You’ll participate in on-call rotations, investigate alerts, and collaborate on platform design while mentoring juniors. Onsite options include Scottsdale, AZ or Seattle, WA offices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in security engineering, SOC or detection engineering, or software or infrastructure roles with a security focus.
• Hands-on incident response and alert triage experience and comfort in an on-call rotation.
• Experience with a SIEM, log analytics platform, or SOAR or workflow automation platform.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms, identity providers, EDR, REST APIs and authentication.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to security alerts, tickets, and phishing reports as part of the queue rotation.
• Participate in on-call rotation, investigating and containing escalated security events.
• Own incidents through closure with timelines, root cause, remediation, and detections updates.
• Automate repetitive work with automation, phishing triage, offboarding verification, and bulk ticket handling.
• Write, tune, and document detections and runbooks for alerts shipped.
• Support identity and access operations and automate checks for reliability.
• Produce audit and compliance evidence and automate collection where possible.
• Design, build, and operate security automation using VCS, testing, and CI/CD.
