The role requires building rapport, providing short-term recovery-oriented support, documenting progress in the EHR, performing intakes, and coordinating referrals within a collaborative care team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CCAR or State Certified Peer Recovery Coach required.
  • Experience in providing services to individuals with Substance Use Disorders, adults with Mental Illness, Serious Emotional Disturbance, or ID/DD preferred.
  • Public sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm and welcoming environment for persons served.
  • Provide short-term, intensive, recovery-oriented services to adults experiencing a SUD crisis.
  • Provide recovery coaching to engage individuals to continue with withdrawal management or residential services.
  • Communicate hope and the possibility of recovery through conversations.
  • Contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere for individuals served.
  • Engage actively with team members and other departments.
  • Document interactions and progress accurately in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Conduct intakes onto the unit.
  • Refer individuals to appropriate access points.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $20.77 To $25.64 Annually

Job Summary:

The Sober Support Unit Peer Recovery Coach engages individuals seeking SUD services and uses motivational interviewing to motivate an individual to continue through with services.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide a warm and welcoming environment for person’s served
  • Provide short-term, intensive, recovery-oriented services to adults experiencing a Sud crisis
  • Provide recovery coaching to individuals to help them engage and continue to withdrawal management or residential treatment services
  • Communicate hope and the possibility of recovery through conversations.
  • Contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere for individuals served.
  • Engage actively with team members and other departments.
  • Document interactions and progress accurately in the Electronic Health Record
  • Conduct intakes onto the unit
  • Refer individuals to appropriate access points
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
  • CCAR or State Certified Peer Recovery Coach
Experience Requirements:
  • Experience in providing services to Individual’s with Substance Use Disorders, adults with Mental Illness, Serious Emotional Disturbance , or intellectual / Developmental Disabilities preferred.
  • Experience in providing services in the public sector preferred.

  • Knowledge of Health Care Systems desired
  • Knowledge of OCHN Substance Use Disorder and Core Provider Agencies and services

  • Demonstrated effective computer skills with Word, Excel, database, and other relevant software programs.

Additional Information:
Travel required, physical requirements, on-call schedules, etc.:
  • Must have available means of transportation to and from OCHN and for required offsite meetings or site visits.
  • Must be available for meetings and events which may occur outside of standard office hours.
  • Work performed primarily in an office environment.
