Job summary

John F Kennedy Middle School in Enfield, CT is seeking a Certified Special Education Educator to join the SOAR program. You will develop and implement IEPs, collaborate with general education teachers and families, and provide targeted instruction to students with diverse needs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Special Education and CT teaching certification, strong knowledge of special education law, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Experience with students with diverse needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs/PPTs tailored to individual needs.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and teaching strategies.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
• Participate in IEP/PPT meetings and other relevant school meetings.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and IEPs.
