Job summary

Discovery Land Company is seeking a Certified Snowsports Instructor for Homewood Mountain & Lake Club on the shores of Lake Tahoe, CA. You will deliver world-class snowsports instruction to guests of all ages, using student-centered teaching methods and a strong focus on safety and guest service.

Responsibilities include tailoring lessons, assessing progress, and acting as a resort ambassador to ensure guests return season after season.

Qualifications

• PSIA/AASI or equivalent instructional methodologies.
• Knowledge of local mountain terrain, conditions, and resort operations.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant snowsports instruction experience.
• Experience working with children and families.

Homewood is seeking a Certified Ski or Snowboard Instructor to join the Snowsports Department.**Job Summary:**This role is responsible for creating unforgettable experiences and lifelong memories for our guests. You will deliver world-class snowsports instruction to students of all ages and abilities, using modern, student-centered teaching techniques in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. As a visible ambassador for the resort and the sport, you will inspire passion for skiing and snowboarding, foster skill development, and promote a culture of safety, fun, and learning. By building genuine connections and delivering exceptional guest service, you will help ensure our guests return season after season.**Duties & Responsibilities:*** Provide professional, engaging snowsports instruction to guests of all ages and ability levels, tailoring lessons to individual needs and goals.* Use modern, student-centered teaching methods to create a safe, fun, and effective learning environment.* Assess guest skills and progress, offering clear, constructive feedback and achievable next steps.* Model and promote safe skiing and riding practices, including proper use of lifts and awareness of mountain conditions.* Act as an ambassador for the resort by delivering exceptional guest service and fostering a welcoming atmosphere on and off the snow.* Communicate effectively with guests, parents/guardians, and fellow team members to ensure an outstanding experience.* Maintain a professional appearance and behavior that reflects resort standards.* Assist with group organization, class assignments, and lesson scheduling as needed.* Stay current with industry best practices, resort programs, and safety protocols through ongoing training and certification.* Support resort events, programs, and initiatives that promote snowsports and enhance the guest experience.* Other duties as assigned.**Skills & Qualifications:*** Familiarity with PSIA/AASI or equivalent instructional methodologies.* Knowledge of local mountain terrain, conditions, and resort operations.* Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.* Experience working with children.**Additional Requirements:*** Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.* Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.* Ability to work in a team environment.* Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.* Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
