Job summary

Keysight is seeking a Snowflake Platform Administrator to secure, optimize, and govern the enterprise Snowflake data platform. You will manage warehouses, RBAC, Cortex AI services, and data sharing while partnering with data engineering and analytics teams to enable AI-ready data solutions.

You will monitor performance, drive cost controls, and support security and governance audits across dev/test/prod environments, ensuring scalable and compliant operations.

The Snowflake Platform Administrator is responsible for administering, securing, and optimizing the enterprise Snowflake data platform. This role ensures the platform is scalable, secure, cost-efficient, and aligned with enterprise data governance standards. The administrator will manage user access, resource provisioning, performance optimization, Cortex AI services, and operational support while partnering with data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams to enable trusted, AI-ready data solutions.

Responsibilities

Platform Administration

• Administer and maintain the enterprise Snowflake environment, including warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, compute resources, and Cortex AI services.
• Configure and manage virtual warehouses, resource monitors, storage, and account settings.
• Monitor platform health, performance, availability, usage, and AI service consumption.
• Support platform upgrades, integrations, and operational maintenance.

• Manage environment strategy (dev/test/prod) and change/release management for platform changes.
• Manage backup, Time Travel, Fail-safe, and disaster recovery/business continuity processes.

Security & Governance

• Design and implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) using Snowflake roles and integration with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Manage user provisioning, authentication, access policies, and secure data sharing.
• Implement data security features including masking policies, row access policies, network policies, encryption, and governance controls for Cortex AI workloads.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

• Apply data classification and tagging in alignment with enterprise data governance standards.
• Maintain audit logging and support security and compliance audits.

AI & Platform Optimization

• Enable and administer Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities, including access controls, governance, and monitoring of AI services.
• Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to support AI-powered use cases using Cortex AI, Cortex Search, and AI SQL functions.
• Monitor query performance, optimize warehouse utilization, and manage AI workload consumption.
• Implement resource monitors and cost controls to optimize platform and AI service usage.

• Track and report Snowflake credit consumption and AI service costs; recommend FinOps/cost-optimization strategies.
• Evaluate and pilot new Snowflake features (e.g., Snowpark, Native Apps) for enterprise adoption.

Collaboration & Support

• Partner with data engineers, analytics teams, and application owners to support data pipelines, analytics, and AI workloads.
• Troubleshoot platform, security, performance, and Cortex AI-related issues.
• Develop administration standards, documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for the Snowflake platform.

• Deliver training and enablement to platform users on Snowflake security features and best practices.
• Report platform performance, cost, utilization and security metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience administering enterprise data platforms, including at least 3 years of hands-on Snowflake administration.
• Strong experience with:
• Snowflake administration
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• User and role management
• Virtual warehouses and resource monitors
• Query performance tuning
• Data security and governance
• Working knowledge of Snowflake Cortex AI services, AI SQL functions, and AI governance.
• Experience integrating Snowflake with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), cloud storage, and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with SQL, scripting, and automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• SnowPro Core Certification (SnowPro Advanced preferred).
• Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI, Cortex Search, Document AI, or related AI capabilities.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience supporting ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Informatica, Fivetran, or Matillion.
• Familiarity with data catalog and governance platforms (e.g., Atlan or Alation).
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk) for platform monitoring.
• ITIL or change management experience in an enterprise environment.
