Job description

Our Snowflake Engineer will be a leading technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable and high-performance data solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud. This role requires deep, practical experience across all aspects of the Snowflake platform, including architecture, performance tuning, data modeling, and security. You will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and automating enterprise-level data pipelines and warehouses to support our business intelligence and analytical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build scalable, secure, and cost‑effective data solutions using Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, databases, and schemas.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL, Python, and other code for ELT/ETL processes to load, transform, and manage data within the Snowflake environment.
  • Implement data pipelines using Snowflake features like Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks, along with orchestration tools such as dbt or Airflow.
  • Guide performance tuning, cost optimization, and workload management; monitor and fix query performance, analyze execution plans, and implement solutions to ensure efficient data processing.
  • Implement robust data governance and security measures, such as RBAC, data masking, and encryption; ensure data solutions align with regulations and standards like HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Automate essential data processes and deployment workflows using CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based version control, scripting languages, and IaC tools such as Terraform to manage Snowflake infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, architects, data scientists, and business partners to define requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs; mentor other engineers and support collaboration within the team.
  • Fully document all solution work, including designs, configurations, and data lineage.
Qualifications
  • Location preference: hybrid work location (onsite at Meridian Idaho campus and WFH); opportunity for fully remote within a mutually acceptable location.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field; or equivalent practical experience (two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college).
  • Experience: 3‑5+ years in data engineering, data warehousing, or a similar role, preferably in healthcare.
  • 2‑3+ years of hands‑on experience with Snowflake, including advanced features like Zero Copy Cloning and Time Travel.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, data modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, data vault), and ELT concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Demonstrable experience with data pipeline orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Fivetran.
  • Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD standard processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; diligent approach.
  • Have or willing to obtain SnowPro Core Certification.
  • Preferred: Experience leveraging AI‑Driven Development (Snowflake Cortex AI, Cortex Code, Snowpark) and AI‑native tools (Cortex Search, Notebooks, Streamlit).
  • Advanced Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro Advanced Architect) are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits

Estimated pay range (2026): Engineer II $96,183 to $144,275; Engineer III $118,506 to $177,758. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus. We offer a robust benefits package including paid time off, paid holidays, community service and self‑care days, medical/dental/vision/pharmacy insurance, 401(k) matching and non‑contributory plan, life insurance, short and long term disability, education reimbursement, employee assistance plan (EAP), adoption assistance program, and paid family leave program.
