Job summary

Fractal Analytics is hiring a Snowflake/DBT Developer with AWS focus to design and implement robust data pipelines, optimize Snowflake workloads, and ensure data governance across cloud-based platforms.

The role emphasizes collaboration with data analysts, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure data solutions using Snowflake, DBT, and AWS services. Experience with CI/CD, IaC, and data modeling is essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.
  • Skills in optimizing SQL queries for performance and efficiency.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and techniques, including Snowpipe, AWS Glue, openflow, fivetran or similar tools for real-time and periodic data processing.
  • Proficiency in transforming data within Snowflake using SQL, with Python being a plus.
  • Expertise in AWS data services relevant to Snowflake workloads (e.g., S3 data lake integration, IAM roles, KMS encryption, CloudWatch monitoring).
  • Experience designing and implementing AWS-based data pipelines and integrations with Snowflake (data ingestion from S3, Glue, and other AWS services; orchestration patterns).
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for data assets, including build, test, and release automation, and IaC tooling (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform) as part of the deployment workflow.
  • Strong understanding of data security, compliance and governance.
  • Experience with DBT for database object modeling and provisioning.
  • Experience in version control tools, particularly Azure DevOps.
  • Good documentation and coaching practice.

Snowflake/DBT Developer with AWS Focus

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake engineer with a strong emphasis on AWS-based data architectures. This role combines Snowflake expertise with AWS services, DBT modeling, and a robust CI/CD approach using Azure DevOps. Pay:

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the hourly rate range, depending experience, is $120,000 - $140,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.

Benefits:

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a free time PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take time needed for either sick time or vacation.
