Job summary

Avenue 45 seeks a Principal Data Platform Architect to define and drive the enterprise data platform strategy with a Snowflake-centric Lakehouse architecture. You will enable self-service BI, integrate systems, and establish an ML/AI foundation, ensuring scalable, secure, and governed data for business value.

The role requires deep Snowflake platform expertise, hands-on data engineering, and leadership to align data platforms with strategic business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field required.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or Business/Technology discipline preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data platforms.
• 5+ years in a senior/lead architect role driving platform strategy, standards, and governance at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Lakehouse/medallion architectures.
• Experience with ELT/ETL tools, data modeling, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise data platform strategy and roadmap.
• Design Snowflake-based Lakehouse architecture (medallion model) and data models (bronze/silver/gold).
• Lead integration architecture across systems and data domains (API-led, event-driven, batch).
• Enable self-service BI with governed semantic layers and datasets.
• Lay the foundation for ML/AI platforms and MLOps practices.
• Ensure data security, lineage, quality, and governance across data domains.
