Snowflake Data Engineer — Secure Data Sharing & Analytics

Job description

APPIT Software Solutions is hiring a Snowflake Data Engineer in Seattle, USA. Build and optimize cloud data warehouse solutions on Snowflake, delivering high-performance analytics infrastructure at APPIT Software in Seattle.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data models, schemas, and transformation layers within Snowflake
• Develop and maintain ELT pipelines using Snowpipe, Tasks, and Streams for continuous data loading
• Optimize Snowflake warehouse sizing, clustering keys, and materialized views for cost and performance
• Implement role-based access control, data masking, and row-level security policies in Snowflake
• Build data sharing solutions for internal teams and external partners using Snowflake Secure Data Sharing
• Create monitoring dashboards for credit consumption, query performance, and data freshness metrics

Requirements

• 4-6 years of data engineering experience with at least 2 years working with Snowflake
• Expert-level SQL skills including complex window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning
• Experience with Snowflake features such as Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, and Snowpipe
• Proficiency with at least one ETL/ELT tool (dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, or Informatica)
• Familiarity with cloud storage integration (AWS S3, Azure Blob) and external stages
• Understanding of data governance concepts including data cataloging and lineage tracking

Nice to Have

• Snowflake SnowPro Core or Advanced certification
• Experience with dbt for transformation orchestration
• Knowledge of Snowpark for Python-based transformations
