Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a data engineer to join our Center Square, PA team. The role emphasizes Snowflake development, SQL expertise, and hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools to build scalable data pipelines.

The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, analysts, and engineers to deliver high-quality data solutions, while following best practices in data modeling, data warehousing, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Snowflake development experience.
• 5 years of SQL experience with complex queries.
• 4 years with Talend or similar ETL/ELT tools.
• Knowledge of Python and dbt.
• Hands-on, self-driven engineer with limited supervision and good prioritization.
• Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling and data warehousing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, document, monitor, and improve existing data warehouse and ETL/ELT solutions.
• Develop new data pipelines and onboard additional data sources.
• Monitor jobs, troubleshoot data issues, and optimize processes for reliability.
• Work with Shell scripting, Airflow, Git, CI/CD, and cloud platforms; consume data from APIs.
• Handle structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
• Perform data modeling and database design activities as needed.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, and compliance.
• Identify reusable components and automation opportunities for multiple workstreams.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.

• 4 Years of Hands-on Experience in using Talend (preferred), Informatica or any other ETL/ELT Tool
• Must have some working knowledge or understanding of Python, dbt (Data Build Tool)
• Must be a hands-on, self-driven, and independent engineer who can work with limited supervision, manage priorities effectively, and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines.
• Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling, database design principles, data warehousing concepts, and SQL/NoSQL technologies is highly desired.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the development, maintenance, documentation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of existing data warehouse and ETL/ELT solutions.
• Develop new data pipelines, onboard additional data sources, implement transformations, document and improve overall data delivery processes.
• Monitor scheduled jobs, investigate failures, troubleshoot data issues, optimize processes, and implement sustainable fixes to support reliable operations.
• Experience with Shell scripting, Airflow, Git, CI/CD, and AWS or other cloud platforms, and consuming data from APIs, external data services are desirable.
• Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources is desirable.
• Perform basic to intermediate data modeling and database design activities as required.
• Perform detailed data analysis, ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, and compliance through quality control procedures and monitoring processes.
• Identify reusable components/AI/Automation opportunities and build them so that they can be reused by all the workstreams.
• Perform maintenance and upgrade releases of supported data systems, including periodic off‑hours support as required.
• Partner with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and application teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions while following the architecture and development guidelines and principles.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with team members.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $130,000 per year
