Job summary

Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes, California, is hiring seasonal snowboard instructors to teach snowboarding and skiing to beginners and kids. Training is provided through Mammoth Ski & Ride School, with a focus on safety and fun.

Typical duties include delivering lessons to children aged 3–14, splitting time roughly 50/50 between snowboard and ski, and using daily paid training sessions starting at 8:30am. Start dates are Nov 17, Dec 8, or Dec 14, with work through April or May.

Qualifications

• Must be able to snowboard at an intermediate level or above.
• Must be able to ski beginner terrain comfortably.
• Experience with kids preferred (camp counselor, coach, daycare).
• Experience in coaching or teaching preferred.
• Experience in guest service industry preferred.
• Excellent social and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Instructors teach snowboarding and skiing.
• Balance roughly 50% snowboard and 50% ski.
• We train you to teach both disciplines.
• First-year instructors teach predominantly beginners.
• Most lessons are for children aged 3–14 years.
• Mammoth Ski & Ride School provides training, including daily paid training from 8:30am to 9:30am (group lessons start at 10:00am).
• Employee housing is currently full for the season.
