Job summary

Mammoth Mountain in Mammoth Lakes, California, seeks seasonal snowboard instructors to teach both snowboarding and skiing, approximately 50% each. Most lessons target beginners and children aged 3–14, with world-class training provided by PSIA/AASI.

Start dates include November 17, December 8, or December 14, with work extending until April and often through May. Benefits include season ski passes, discounts, and a 401k with company match.

Qualifications

• Must be able to snowboard at an intermediate level or above.
• Must be able to ski beginner terrain comfortably.
• Experience working with kids preferred, e.g. camp counselor, swim coach, day care provider, etc.
• Experience in coaching or teaching preferred.
• Experience in the guest service industry preferred.
• Excellent social and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach snowboarding and skiing; approximately 50% snowboard & 50% ski.
• First-year instructors should teach predominantly first time and beginner levels.
• Most lessons will be for children aged 3–14.
• Mammoth Ski & Ride School provides world class training through its PSIA/AASI program.
