Job summary

BrightView Landscapes, LLC is seeking a Laborer, Snow to perform all aspects of snow removal during winter and to keep equipment clean, maintained, and secured per policy. The role requires readiness to work outdoors in winter conditions and to report to on-site locations as needed.

Responsibilities include operating snowplow equipment for extended periods, adhering to safety policies, completing job sheets, and assisting with routine maintenance of tools and machinery as directed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive to multiple work locations.
• Experience operating snowplow equipment.
• Able to participate in routine maintenance of equipment.
• Experience in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Job Summary

• The Laborer, Snow performs all aspects of snow removal during the winter. This role also cleans, maintains, and secures all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Remove snow using a snowplow and heavy equipment for several hours at a time, depending on the amount of snowfall
• Be available each time it snows and report either to a central location or directly to the jobsite
• Remove snow in appropriate locations, avoid piling it on trees, shrubs, fire hydrants or sidewalks
• Report any concerns or incidents to the direct supervisor
• Fill out a job sheet when finished working after each snow removal operation
• Participate in maintaining a safe and secure work environment for team employees and clients by adhering to company safety policies
• Be aware of safety issues or concerns, and report them to the appropriate Supervisor
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License and the ability to drive to a variety of work locations in assigned territory
• Reliable transportation to and from any work site
• Prior experience operating snowplow equipment
• Ability to participate in routine maintenance of equipment
• Experience working efficiently in a production-driven / fast paced environment

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Be at least 18 years old (21 if operating company provided vehicles)
• Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Able to safely operate landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers).
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stand, walk continuously throughout the day and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
• Able to perform manual labor using a variety of hand tools (e.g. shovels, rakes)
• You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Landscapers who will be operating a BrightView fleet vehicle are required to have a valid driver’s license and meet company standards as it relates motor vehicle performance identified on a state issued motor vehicle record check.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays and overnight if needed.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Compensation Pay Range:

THE PAY RANGE FOR THIS ROLE IS $20-25 PER HOUR. YOUR PAY RATE WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON PREVIOUS APPLICABLE WORK EXPERIENCE AND ANY CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES YOU HOLD.
