American Landscaping Partners LLC is seeking a Snow Removal Operator to safely operate plow trucks, skid steers, front-end loaders, and de-icing equipment, keeping driveways and lots accessible during winter weather.

Under the Operations Manager, you will monitor weather, perform routine maintenance, apply salt/de-icers, record work, and ensure high-quality, safe service for clients in outdoor winter conditions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Experience with snow removal equipment or de-icing equipment preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Valid state driver’s license required for plow or salt truck positions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate snow removal equipment (plow trucks, skid steers, front-end loaders) safely and efficiently to clear snow and ice on driveways, parking lots, sidewalks and entryways.
  • Operate salt spreaders and de-icing equipment; apply salt, sand or brine per weather conditions and client specs; adjust application rates based on temperature and surface conditions.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment daily; report mechanical issues; keep materials organized and restock as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, weather/conditions, and materials used; report inventory and usage to management.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear PPE; participate in safety briefings and adhere to company policies.

Position Core Profile

The Snow Removal Operator is responsible for operating snow removal and/or de-icing equipment to ensure the safety and accessibility of client properties during winter weather events. Depending on operational needs and assignment, this role involves the safe and efficient operation of plow trucks, skid steers, front-end loaders, salt spreaders, and related equipment to clear snow and ice and/or apply de-icing materials to driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas. Under the supervision of an Operations Manager, the Snow Removal Operator responds promptly to weather conditions and maintains equipment to support successful completion of snow and ice management services.

Accountabilities
  • Snow Removal Operations (as assigned): Operate snow removal equipment (plow trucks, skid steers, front-end loaders) safely and efficiently to clear snow and ice from driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, and entryways; Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to snowfall and icy conditions; Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns and ensuring satisfaction with completed work
  • De-Icing & Treatment Operations (as assigned): Operate salt spreaders and de-icing application equipment to apply salt, sand, brine, or other approved de-icing materials according to weather conditions and client specifications; Determine appropriate material application rates based on temperature, precipitation type, and surface conditions; Apply materials efficiently and according to environmental and safety guidelines
  • Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain assigned snow removal and/or de-icing equipment; Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is in good working condition; Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and vehicles; Load, unload, and organize materials for daily operations; Monitor material levels and report restocking needs; Report mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions immediately to management
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of work performed, including time spent on each property and snow/ice conditions; For de-icing operations, document materials used and application rates; Track inventory of materials and report usage to management
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times; Adhere to company policies and supervisor instructions; Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately; Maintain awareness of environmental concerns when applying materials; Participate in daily job briefings or safety meetings as assigned.

Experience And Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience: Previous experience operating snow removal equipment and/or de-icing application equipment is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Prior heavy equipment operation or outdoor equipment experience is a plus
  • Licensing/Certification: Valid state driver's license required for plow or salt truck positions

Working Conditions
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods while operating heavy equipment, as well as regular use of hands and arms to control machinery and perform equipment maintenance. Employees must be able to lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds, with heavier loads being team-assisted or reasonably accommodated. The role involves operation of snow removal and/or de-icing equipment, requiring focused attention and coordination. Additionally, the position may occasionally involve climbing, reaching, or working at heights when servicing or inspecting equipment.
  • Work is regularly performed outdoors in winter conditions and exposes the employee to a variety of weather conditions, including snow, ice, cold, wind, and occasional rain. There is potential exposure to noise from equipment operation and exhaust fumes. When performing de-icing operations, there may be exposure to salt and chemical de-icing materials (including brine, liquid de-icers, sand, and dust). Repeated exposure to these materials may cause skin or respiratory irritation; appropriate PPE and hygiene practices are required. The job may require working on roads, highways, uneven terrain, near traffic, or within active construction zones. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as heavy clothing layers, insulated gloves, safety glasses, and boots, is required to ensure safety and comfort. Exposure to cold weather poses risks of hypothermia and frostbite, requiring awareness and appropriate precautions.
  • Must be available for early start times, overtime, and shift work as needed. This position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays during active winter weather events to ensure prompt service to clients. Work schedule is weather dependent and may involve extended hours during significant snow or ice events.
